According to Deejay’s associations of Nigeria, (DJAN) Enugu State, they have banned fellow Deejay’s in Enugu state from playing Slowdog’s musics in clubs, lounges and radio stations.

The ban include covers of songs he did and the songs he was featured in. The ban is following the incident that happened during the Djs rave last year 12th December 2019 at golden valley hotel Nsukka where Slowdog was among the artists DJAN, Enugu state recommended to perform but the indigenous rapper didn’t show up.

Below is the statement released by DJAN:

Nigeria Enugu state (DJAN) has banned playing of slow dogs music in public places, clubs, lounges & radio stations. Which also includes covers of songs he did and the songs he was featured in.

Following the incident that happened during the Djs rave last year 12th December 2019 at golden valley hotel nsukka.

Slow dog was among the artists DJAN, Enugu state recommended to perform. The state chairman DJAN, DJ Grand Fingaz was designated by the LOC to communicate slow dog three weeks before the event which he did.

After a long phone conversation with Slow dog which was recorded for transparency purpose, his response was rather favourable as the requirements were met and an agreed sum was paid into his account through our LOC chairman for logistics but slow dog deliberately did not come for the event without prior information. When communicated, he did not show any sign of remorse or even apologize for being absent. Instead, he mentioned that Enugu state DJs don’t play his songs and requested account number to pay back the agreed sum which was sent to him for logistics. We wish to state that all our dealings with slow dog were recorded as evidence.

We wish to appreciate the likes of legendary music artist Honorable Tony one week, Oodera, AB Cowboy, Quincy & veteran actor Offiafulu Agu that made the event worthwhile alongside professional DJs.

DJAN ENUGU STATE frowns at the disrespect slow dog has exhibited to the association, we hereby make a collective decision to stop playing slow dogs songs which commence from Tuesday 11th Feb 2020. All members of Deejays Association of Nigeria should uphold this ban until he makes a public apology addressed DJAN for breach of contract and disrespect as regards DJ/Artist relationship.

Finally, any artiste who wishes to feature the above named artiste is doing that at his/her own risk because the ban affect both song featured.
