Senegalese-American singer, record producer, and entrepreneur, Akon in an interview disclosed that he signed Wizkid and P Square to commercialize Afrobeats to the Global stage.

However, Akon explained that back in the days, he came to Africa after the world cup and realized Afrobeat was doing so well locally but could not cross the boundaries of Nigeria and Ghana, hence he decided to help push it with his record label by signing Wizkid.

He also recounted how the music duo, P Square were doing so well with their music and he signed them to help push the agenda to the whole world.

This revelation is not well believed by Wizkid FC online and people are asking if this could be the truth.
