Nigerian street-hop singer, Ahmed Ololade Asake, known as Asake has recounted how ace rapper, noticed him and added him to the YBNL family.

He said that before he got signed to Olamide’s YBNL nation, it took years of dedication towards achieving his heart desire.

Speaking in an interview with Cool FM, the YBNL artiste revealed that he’s been sending messages to YBNL boss, Olamide since 2020 but the label boss didn’t respond to any of his texts.

According to the singer, he would slide into Olamide’s DM often asking for help and reminding him about how he helped his friends, of which Fireboy is among.

Asake further said that he attended the same school with Fireboy, but the ‘peru’ hit-maker experienced a breakthrough in the entertainment business before him so he always brought it up while texting Olamide all in a bid to get the YBNL founder’s attention.

He added that sadly, all that didn’t work out at the time, but his dream turned to reality with the release of his smash hit, ‘Omo Ope’.

Asake reminisced on how excited he was and noted that he didn’t think twice about the offer before as he accepted immediately.

He also said that he was not really interested in going home with the terms of contract document to read through and sign because he just wanted to start making music as a YBNL artiste without delay.

The singer said that Olamide made him realise that he was being observed for a long time before they invited and signed him.
