Banky W in an interview was asked to throw a little light on what happened between him and Wizkid, leading to his fallout from his label, Empire Mates Entertainment.
Banky said, at the time Wizkid started to dream bigger under his EME label, he (Banky) was hearing a lot of conversations going on behind him and he decided to sit one on one with Wizkid to have a discussion on what he really wanted.
According to him, he told the Starboy he won’t be an impediment in his way if he (Wizkid) wanted to leave the label and strive for himself.
During their conversation, Wizkid told him he would love to leave and go down his path alone. Banky said, he allowed him to go with his blessings without any lawsuit against him for not finishing his contract with him.
When asked about the number of albums Wizkid was supposed to give his label, he said:
“ I think the details escaped me but it was about five albums and he had done two and I think he still owed three albums but he wanted to leave and I do not want anybody to stay where they don’t want to be, because it’ll just create resentment.”
